Ruth Lois grew up as an active young lady! She alway spoke of how she rarely walked anywhere. She would say that she would instead run everywhere. She was also active and quite skilled as a roller skater and performed locally with her troupe. She even entertained in NY City with this skating ensemble which included her sister. She loved to stay active thus keeping herself fit and energetic. This created a spunk that she would carry throughout her life.
Ruth met her husband in first grade at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Mom always proudly told us, she ended up marrying Kenny, the love of her life, and from there they together created something simple and wonderful. Ruth and Ken married, spent the next 62 years sharing their lives together building their own legacy and creating lasting family memories.
Mom and Dad were a team and we are eternally grateful to them for their endless sacrifices, the countless life lessons taught to us, and their unending commitment to establish a solid foundation based on the importance of family, faith, and perseverance.
We are so thankful for having a terrific Mother or MOM or granny or great grandma. Mom and Granny was kind, loving, always thoughtful of others, made everyone feel welcome, and never looked for attention. Mother or Granny always put others before herself, had a smile that was warm, engaging and easily made others smile. Mom was pretty, modest, simple, and caring about others,
Our Mom was an accomplished pianist, a figure skater, a skilled seamstress, and a self proclaimed chocolate and Coca-Cola holic.
Granny was funny, playful, and loved being with her grandkids.
Her accomplishments will not go down in any world record books but they won all her families devotion. The values that she lived are the example that all of us can pass down to our families. Mother taught us how to pray and her commitment to the Blessed Mother and her Catholic faith is something that is truly special and remains in each of our hearts.
Mom left each us with many lasting memories but the one thing that will never be forgotten is the following -
When you deal with adversity, when things get tough, Remember the following --
“You gotta keep going ... To keep going”
